Vegan French Toast

 Vegan French Toast

(Makes 1 Serving)


So what's your thoughts on French Toast? I've always loved it but since I don't eat eggs anymore I thought it was just something that was off the table for me. But not with this recipe! I love that eating plant based doesn't mean giving up your favorites! 

Ingredients:

2 slices whole wheat or grain bread (I like Ezekiel Bread because it isn't highly processed.). 
1/2 Tbsp nutritional yeast
1 Tbsp pure maple syrup
1/2 c plant milk
1 Tbsp whole wheat flour 
1 tsp cinnamon
Fruit of choice (I love berries!)
Sprinkle of powdered sugar (optional)

Whisk nutritional yeast, flour, cinnamon, maple syrup and plant milk together in a shallow dish. Soak each slice of bread in mixture and then place on a warm non-stick skillet.  Cook until golden brown on each side. Top with a sprinkle of powdered sugar and fruit and then drizzle with warm pure maple syrup.
